LCD TVs – Superior Design
The days of the massive and heavy tube TVs are long gone as everyone switches over to LCD TVs. We all, well most of us anyways, remember the days of those giant square tubes that seem like such ancient and awkward pieces of equipment now. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display television and the light for the display is typically provided by a series of cold cathode fluorescent lamps at the rear. LCD TVs offer plenty of advantages using newer technology to make TVs that are lightweight, flat, and have a much clearer picture. We can even hang TVs on the wall now to save space; try that with your old tube TV. Due to liability reasons we must retract that last statement as you might seriously injure yourself, although…never mind. LCD TVs have taken over so quickly because they offer so many superior design characteristics and technological advancements. They give us a crystal clear picture and as the price has come down they have become more affordable for everyone making them the most highly produced television on the market overtaking tube, plasma, and rear projection televisions.
LCD TVs – Technological Advancement
The technology continues to advance adding new features to LCD TVs such as WiFi for streaming movies and other media directly from the internet as well as upgrades in sound and picture quality. They also offer more options and inputs to allow for many different things to be plugged in without having to switch cords whether for game consoles or Blu ray players and even the option to plug in your computer. As the technology advances it also offers larger sizes available up to 65” and growing. There are rumors of some prototype versions being released up to 100 inches that were not placed into regular production. These advances also seem to create a clearer and better picture by increasing the hertz, and you can tell a big difference in 60 Hz to 120 Hz televisions as the picture quality increases and decreases the blur of motion. This too seems to increase steadily as there are 240 Hz models and the numbers continue to climb. The question remains of when it will be a good time to buy a television that you can keep for quite some time since the technology continues to put older models out of date.
LCD TVs – Good Price & Great Option
It’s hard to say really, but if you can afford the top of the line models it may not be quite as much of an issue, if you can’t then buying into LCD TVs is still a great option if you still have your old tube TV since it’s hard to give them away nowadays. The technology will always advance so do some research and find which LCD TVs are going to suit you best. You can find a good television at a reasonable price that is sure to offer up everything you will need. Make sure to compare features and prices as well as looking to see if any televisions are having a particular problem on online forums. If you do your homework you can find some great LCD TVs for a good price.
