The days of the massive and heavy tube TVs are long gone as everyone switches over to LCD TVs. We all, well most of us anyways, remember the days of those giant square tubes that seem like such ancient and awkward pieces of equipment now. LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display television and the light for the display is typically provided by a series of cold cathode fluorescent lamps at the rear. LCD TVs offer plenty of advantages using newer technology to make TVs that are lightweight, flat, and have a much clearer picture. We can even hang TVs on the wall now to save space; try that with your old tube TV.
